BAYANIHAN CONTINUES
After various relief operations and distribution of food packs that we have received from you, both in-kind and monetary, we were able to help Palaweños slowly get back on their feet despite the circumstances. Now, with our continuous efforts to aid in the recovery of Palawan in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette, Palawan BayaniJuan extends a helping hand to another badly affected sector that needs immediate assistance – our dear bangkeros.
WHAT IS BUILD-A-BANGKA?
Home to breathtaking views of nature and the sea, our dear bangkeros play a huge role in making Palawan what it is today. The vast devastation brought by Typhoon Odette has greatly affected their livelihoods.
With that, Build-A-Bangka recognizes the urgent need for support to the bangkeros as they slowly rebuild their lives along with the rest of the island by providing assistance as they struggle with the loss of transportation, and even greater, a loss of income. Through the gathered donations, Palawan BayaniJuan will turnover the money and supplies in which the bangkeros and our partner supplies company coordinate together to determine specific parts and supplies needed to rebuild the bangka.
How It Works
1
DONATE
You may send in your donations of any amount through any of our payment channels.
2
DETERMINE
Our bangkeros, with the help of our partner [construction and supplies] firms, will determine what materials and parts they need to fix and rebuild their bangka.
3
BUILD
Your monetary donations will be forwarded by our team to the bangkeros for them to secure the materials and can begin building!
HOW TO DONATE
You may send in your monetary donations through the following channels. Rest assured that all donations will be properly accounted and listed for transparency’s sake.
ABOUT
PALAWAN BAYANIJUAN
Palawan is hailed as one of the top tourist destinations in the country. From the Underground River to its unforgettable beaches, the community has grown to be a stronghold for species conservancies, habitat protection, and countless other essential services to keep the island’s economy booming. However, following the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry has been impacted severely. Our bangkeros and countless other tourism frontliners go day-by-day without their source of income.
Palawan is only what it is today because of the countless blood, sweat, and tears Palaweños all over the island have given to their home. As a result, it is now, more than ever, that we need to be there for them in the best way we know how — the bayanihan way. This is why Palawan BayaniJuan was created:
to be the first to build a support system for all Palaweños both now, and in the future.
